Following the success of Tamaya’s Malbec, Cabernet, Syrah this 100% Cabernet Saugvignon has a big bold flavour. Dark ruby with a purple center, some new oak leds to toasted hazelnuts, black licorice and dark, dark chocolate. Tannens have good structure that will allow this wine to continue to improve for at least the next 5 years.
It is an excellent example of a wine from the terroir of the Limari Valley. Dedcanting this wine an hour before serving will enhance the complexity of its aromatics.
(Chef Daniel Gilbert – Carriage Trade Wines & Spirits)
The name ‘Tamaya’ means ‘high scenic viewpoint,’ and the word comes from the dialect of the Diaguita indigenous culture that inhabited the Limarí Valley between the eighth and sixth centuries BCE. The cool, high-altitude, semi-desert vineyards surrounding that high scenic viewpoint are home to this sinewy, structured Cabernet Sauvignon that is on the lookout for grilled-rare steaks or beef fajitas.
